Sliding Glass Patio Doors
By: Steve Ormond, Tue Sep 11th, 2007
Patio Doors are becoming a popular option in homes to improve the access to gardens, and outdoor spaces. Patio doors are completely glazed to extend the feel of a room, flooding the interior spaces with all the available natural light. Earlier, traditional patio doors were highly notorious for not just heat loss and leakage, but also for poor security. Mainly, there are two types of patio doors, sliding and hinged, offering distinct features. Sliding patio doors are ideal for maximising views, as they consist of two or more individual panels, which are able to slide back and forth on hidden rollers. Moreover, sliding panels can be combined with fixed panels too. Whereas, hinged patio doors are still operated in the same fashion as standard entry doors.
